What are the indications for using Trospium:

Trospium is a medicine used to relax the muscles of the urinary bladder.

It is used to treat symptoms associated with involuntary loss of urine and/or increased urination frequency and/or urgency in patients with an overactive bladder.

Do not take trospium:

If you have ever had an allergic reaction to tropium chloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

If you suffer from any of the following:

urinary retention, i.e. obstruction of the urinary tract,

the eye condition narrow-angle glaucoma,

abnormal/faster than normal heartbeat,

myasthenia gravis (a disorder that causes muscle fatigue),

A severe gastrointestinal condition, such as toxic megacolon

kidney problems,

serious liver problems;

Warnings and Precautions:

Talk to your pharmacist before taking trospium if you have any of the following:

any kind of stomach or intestinal obstruction,

impaired urine flow (eg in the case of benign tissue growths in the male prostate),

neuropathy, i.e. nerve damage,

Hiatal hernia associated with reflux esophagitis. This is usually associated with heartburn that gets worse when you bend over or lie down.

hyperthyroidism,

Any heart disease, such as coronary artery disease or congestive heart failure.

Any liver problems.

Do not give trospium to children under 18 years old.
