What is Monjaro
Monjaro is a weekly injection approved for use to lower blood sugar (blood glucose) in adults with Type II diabetes
Monjaro works to reduce blood sugar levels by increasing insulin production
It also slows down the rate at which food passes through your body, making you feel full for longer.
Mungaro (Tirzepatide) is the first dual GIP / GLP-1 receptor agonist which means it acts on glucose-dependent insulinotropic receptors (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide receptor 1 (GLP-1).
Monjaro can be used as a single therapy or in combination with other diabetes medications including metformin depressants and sulfonylureasorSGLT2.
Monjaro is not for use in people with Type 1 diabetes
How terzipatide works
* Terzipatide acts on GLP-1 and GIP receptors as a double agonist.
* Improves insulin sensitivity, reduces glucagon secretion and also increases insulin response.
* In addition, terzipatide slows gastric emptying, stimulates satiety, lowers glucose levels after eating and fasting, and also works to reduce food intake, and therefore may reduce the total body weight
