Each 1 ml contains 2800 IU cholecalciferol (each drop contains 100 IU vitamin D3).

Indications

Prevention and treatment of all forms and stages of rickets and osteomalacia
Tetany caused by calcium deficiency
Prevention of chronic insufficiency in the functioning of the parathyroid glands
Prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in the elderly and menopause
Prevention of parathyroid insufficiency after surgical operations

Contraindications

High level of calcium in the blood
Sarcoidosis
Hypersensitivity to Vitamin D
Acute pulmonary tuberculosis

Dosage and method of use

0-6 months: 5 mcg (200 IU)
7-12 months: 5 mcg (200 IU)
1-3 years: 5 mcg (200 IU)
4-8 years: 5 mcg (200 IU)
9-13 years: 5 mcg (200 IU)
14-18 years: 5 mcg (200 IU)
Adults over 19 years: 5-10 mcg (200-400 IU)

Precautions and warnings

Caution should be exercised in patients with kidney failure and stones
It must be taken into account that most baby foods contain vitamin D, so this must be taken into account when determining the dose
You should avoid taking vitamin D in large quantities or for a long period of time without taking the necessary precautions such as measuring the percentage of calcium, or without indications for use as decided by the doctor

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
 

Vidrop can be taken by pregnant and lactating women within a dose equivalent to the daily need of 200 IU (2 drops). There is clear evidence indicating that there is a potential risk to the fetus when the dose is increased than the daily need.

Drug interactions

Some compounds that contain cholestyramine can reduce the absorption of vitamin D, so a break of at least 4 hours should be left.

Overdose

When the dose of vitamin D exceeds the excretory capacity of the kidneys, it can cause calcium deposits in the kidneys, and the symptoms of an overdose are thirst.

Overdose treatment

Stop taking vitamin D immediately, increase fluids, and avoid foods rich in calcium. Prednisolone 25 mg can be used intravenously.
