Tegretol CR:

These tablets contain carbamazepine, which belongs to the antiepileptic group. This medication is used to treat seizures. It may be used to treat some types of pain and to control mood disorders. The tablets are designed in an extended-release manner so that the active substance is released into the body gradually.

Indications:

• Treating certain types of epilepsy.

How to Use:

• This medication is to be taken by mouth only.

• The tablet can be taken during, after or between meals.
• The tablet should be swallowed with water without chewing or crushing.

Warnings   and Precautions:

• Avoid taking this medicine if you are allergic to carbamazepine or any other similar ingredients, such as: Oxcarbazepine, Amitriptyline, or Imipramine.
• This medicine should not be given to children under five years of age.
• You must tell the doctor or pharmacist if you have other diseases, or if you are taking any other medications, nutritional supplements, or herbs.
