Product Description:

• Lopressor, which contains metoprolol, reduces the heart's pumping force and the amount of blood pumping, and it also makes the heart beat more slowly and regularly.
• It causes blood vessels to relax and widen, and lower blood pressure.
• It is used to treat high blood pressure and angina pectoris.

Medical uses:

• High blood pressure: High blood pressure is a common condition in which the long-term force of blood against artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease.
• heart attack.
• Arrhythmias, especially including supraventricular tachycardia, decreased ventricular rate in atrial fibrillation, and in ventricular extrasystoles.
• Functional heart disorders with palpitations.
• Prevention of cardiac death and re-infarction after acute phase myocardial infarction.
• Migraine prevention.

Uses of Lopressor 100 mg Tablet:

• Do not chew or crush the tablets.
• It should be swallowed with at least half a glass of water.
• Dosages can be changed in special circumstances, so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
• If you take more than you should, talk to your doctor or go to a hospital right away.
• If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
• Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a forgotten dose.

Lopressor drug interactions:

_ If you are taking any of the following medicines, tell your doctor or pharmacist, as you may need a dose adjustment or certain tests:

• Anesthetics some calcium channel blockers (eg diltiazem, verapamil).
• Use with caution in patients receiving CYP2D6 inhibitors (eg, bupropion, chlorpromazine, cimetidine, diphenhydramine, hydroxychloroquine, fluoxetine, paroxetine, propafenone, propoxyphene, quinidine, ritonavir, terbinafine, thioridazine).
• Concomitant use may increase plasma concentrations of metoprolol.
