the use:

It is used to treat the symptoms of ulcerative colitis

Pentasa may be used alone or with other medications

Pentasa belongs to a class of medicines called 5-aminosalicylic acid derivatives

It is not known if PENTASA is safe and effective for children older than 5 years of age

How to use:

The recommended dose for soothing and treating symptoms of moderate to moderately active ulcerative colitis is:

1 g (4 Pentasa 250 mg capsules or 2 Pentasa 500 mg capsules) 4 times a day for a total daily dose of 4 g

The duration of treatment in controlled trials was up to 8 weeks

Warnings and Precautions:

Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients
