Opticycline Ophthalmic Ointment:

It is an antibiotic ointment containing the antibacterial tetracycline. It is used to treat bacterial eye infections that affect the eyelids, conjunctiva and cornea.

Indications:

  • Treatment of bacterial eye infections that affect the eyelids, conjunctiva and cornea.
  • Treatment of secondary infection in trachoma and viral infections.
  • Prevent possible infections after eye surgery.

How to Use:

  • Hands should be washed well before use.
  • Remove the cap of the ointment tube, and hold it between the index finger and thumb near the eyelid.
  • The head is tilted slightly forward, the lower eyelid is pulled to form a pouch between the eyelid and the eye, and the ointment is applied exactly in this place.
  • After applying the ointment, the eyelid is slightly closed for 1-2 minutes while the eyeball is rotated in all directions, to enable the ointment to spread over the entire surface of the eye.
  • using a clean tissue; The excess amount of ointment is removed from the eyelid or eyelashes. using another clean tissue; The tip of the tube is wiped and tightly closed with the cap.
  • If it is necessary to put eye ointment in the other eye; All steps previously described are repeated for the other eye.
  • Use the ointment 3-4 times for 5-7 days, or as directed by your doctor.

Warnings and Precautions:

  • Your vision may become temporarily blurry or blurred after using the eye ointment, so you should avoid driving or using machinery until your vision is clear again.
  • The eyes may become more sensitive to sunlight during treatment with Opticycline ointment, so exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided during this treatment.
  • Contact lenses should not be worn if there is an eye injury.
