Mechanism Of Action Of Nizatidine
Nizatidine is an H2 receptor antagonist used to treat ulcers.
Nizatidine inhibits the binding of histamine to the H2-receptors on the gastric membrane of parietal cells, reducing gastric acid secretions and ulcer formation
Therapeutic Indications Of Fixit 300 Mg Capsules
Heals and stops ulcers in the stomach, or the part where it empties into the small intestine
Heals and stops problems caused by acid reflux in the esophagus
Reduces pain or discomfort known as indigestion, acid reflux or heartburn
Prevents ulcers which may be caused by nsaid (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) treatment i.e. Ibuprofen, diclofenac, often used as analgesic
Method Of Administration Of Fixit 300 Mg Capsules
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Your doctor will tell you how many capsules to take and how long to take them. This will depend on your condition and how old you are.
For stomach or duodenal ulcers: The recommended dose is 150 mg in the morning and 150 mg in the evening or 300 mg taken as a single dose in the evening for 4 weeks.
To treat indigestion, acid reflux, heartburn: The recommended dose is 150 mg to 300 mg taken twice a day for up to 12 weeks
Nizatidine should not be given to children or adolescents.
Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.
