Onyx Software is an International Leader in CRM solutions. Onyx came to American Design with several key challenges.
  1. Onyx was growing rapidly in the very competitive CRM marketplace. How does a 3 year old company continue to increase their market share in such a demanding environment?

  2. Onyx is a Global Company with offices and clients all around the world. The question was, how do they promote themselves in an International Marketplace, all while maintaining complete control over how their brand was being presented.

  3. Keeping control of costs while aggressively marketing was the third challenge. As Onyx participated in International direct mail campaigns, direct sales, consulting, awards and incentives, and tradeshows, their need for a wide variety of promotional products increased. The challenge was how to offer a selection of items to appeal to all of those groups who were accustomed to buying their own unique items to meet their specific needs.

Onyx looked to American Design to help them resolve these challenges. After careful review of the existing marketing plan, and review of the short and long term marketing objectives, the Onyx Corporate Store website was developed.

The Onyx Store is a custom shopping solution that is accessible via the Onyx Intranet for employees to purchase through cost centers, and via the Internet for credit card orders. Employees from all around the world have access to the latest and greatest marketing products, with a product mix that meets about 90% of their current and future promotional products needs. Some of the key benefits are:

  • Consistent brand image presented all around the world!

  • They also no longer have to wait 2-3 weeks to receive their product. An order is automatically processed at American Design and shipped out to any place in the world within 48 hours.

  • Employees have the opportunity to include gift enclosure cards with handwritten personal notes to send with the order.

  • The need for custom products for specific projects or events still exists. The key benefit for the corporate store is the ability for excess inventory for custom products, to be sold and used by other departments or individuals. This helps the original department recoup some of their costs, thus freeing up money for future budgets.

  • When in doubt on what to send, e-Gift Certificates can be ordered in any dollar amount to be sent to the recipient within 2 minutes of submitting the order. The gift certificate is also redeemed on line.

All in all, the Onyx Company Store has been a tremendous success. During the 4 years of operation, we’ve received significant praise from Onyx employees and more importantly from Onyx’s prospects and customers. It has rapidly grown both in usage, functionality, and product selection.
